Reading Champion: Gregor Townsend

Gregor Townsend

Gregor is 6 feet tall and he weighs 14 stone 5 pounds and he played his first rugby match for Scotland when he was 18 years old. Educated at Galashiels Academy, Gregor is one of Scotland's most respected sportsmen – and a keen reader too.

Apart from holding the belief that computer games are the most over–rated distractions on the planet, I believe reading combines enjoyment, education and escapism which is addictive and healthy. Anyone can pick up a book or listen to an audiobook. There is a whole spectrum of choice to what route reading can take you in. I can't decide whether I prefer history or biography to a novel, but I know I have to have a book on my bedside table.
